Pro-Art Association

The Pro-Art Association is a nonprofit organization committed to the idea that art belongs to everyone, not just museums and opera halls. Art is part of our everyday lives. From stories told, to photographs snapped or tunes hummed, art is how we understand, express and shape our lives. Pro-Art celebrates this creativity in our schools and civic spaces, bringing us together to share in what makes us special and reminding us of our common bonds, remembering our past and imagining our future. Pro-Art was established in 1976 and has grown to become a trusted part of our region’s cultural heritage, bringing a wide variety of professional artists into our public schools and local communities for performances, workshops, and exhibitions. Pro-Art has brought world-class artists to our region including The Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Doc Watson, Alvin Ailey Dance Company, Hudson Trio, The Acting Company, The Moscow Festival Ballet, Kandinsky Trio, I Musici, American Shakespeare Center, Bulgarian State Opera, and the New Shanghai Circus.
