Bullitt Park
A wide variety of recreational facilities are available at Bullitt Park, including a splash pad that is open seasonally as well as a treehouse adventure course. The park boasts a 3500 seating capacity, 8000 standing room only capacity and 10000 person capacity for concerts and music venues. Located on the winding Powell River, the park features a football stadium, picnic shelters, basketball courts, baseball fields, Greenbelt Walking Trail (lighted), playground, and more! It also features 2 brand new regulation softball fields suitable for travel ball leagues. The main entrance is at the north end of East 1st Street.
Located in Big Stone Gap in Southwest Virginia. Bullitt Park is the largest of nine community parks operated by the Big Stone Gap Department of Parks and Recreation. Serving as a park since 1935, it is the site for many community activities such as singing conventions, band festivals and craft shows. Bullitt Park was named for Joshua Taggart Bullitt, an early entrepreneur, land speculator and coal mining baron.
